Oh, the exterior of the farmhouse. How I loathe you.

The farmhouse was actually a cape cod style home. I have never been a huge fan of this style and don’t care to see that much of the roof. The only thing the exterior had going for it was the front porch. It was amazing! Well, once we learned that had to go to accommodate the staircase, I was freaking out! We decided to add a smaller front porch onto the front and I couldn’t picture it AT ALL. I’m very visual, so my very sweet, patient husband had our designer do a 3D image for us.

Yikes!!!! All I could see was two little eyes and a giant nose! My friends laughed and said it would look better in person. Nope, couldn’t settle for that and take the chances. We tried again…

Prettier, but still not there. I finally decided that the dormers needed to be bigger. I didn’t want to have to pay for another design, so I went with my gut. We made the dormers bigger and decided to do very chunky, white trim with blue siding. I had a little “Pinspiration” 🙂

We’re still working on the exterior but what do you think so far?
